Book Pushers Reviews A/E’s Wicked Wedding Night

Three opinions on my story! The entire review for the first part of Agony/Ecstasy is here.

Wicked Wedding Night – Margaret Rowe

E: Ok I want a novel! I love how Ms Rowe was able to take some familiar tropes and spin them on their heads in such a short story. B+

MinnChica: I loved this as well, which surprised me a little because I’m not usually a fan of historical erotica. However, this one just really worked for me. Both the hero and the heroine were such great and well developed characters. I think the short length took a little away from the story though, this could have been so much more with a little extra word count. B+

Has: I wasn’t too keen with the beginning of the story but if it was longer I think that would have helped to expand the story as well as establishing. It reminded me a bit of Anne Stuart’s historicals but as the story went on, I really liked the melancholic tone but the changes and acceptance that the heroine faced was too swift but again that is due to the short length. I liked the voice of the author too and despite the short length – the emotions between hero and heroine packs a punch. B

Book Club Sales!

April 2012′s Master of Sin will be published in hardcover and offered by the Doubleday and Rhapsody Book Clubs! I find this especially surreal, because I grew up within a short distance of the Doubleday plant in Garden City, New York. I’d get off the train at Country Life Press and walk home. When I was a little Long Island girl, I did not envision being a published author, but I’m so thrilled I am. :)

New Reviews of Mistress by Marriage

From Romancing the Book: “I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was not just another romance. I appreciated that it had some very unique circumstances. Mistress by Marriage was a fun rollercoaster ride of secrets, betrayals, passion and love.”

I love it! Read the whole review here.

From Nocturne Romance Reads: “Mistress by Marriage is a great historical romance with suspense and mystery mixed in. The chemistry between Edward and Caroline is so steamy you can immediately see it…Ms. Robinson did a wonderful job with this book and I highly recommend it.” Yay! The complete review is here.

Back on Track

I was away for a week, but I’m back with a bunch of news. First up is the RT Book Reviews review for Agony/Ecstasy, coming from Berkley Heat in December:

4 Stars

Litte brings together 21 stories by 20 authors who titillate and entertain. A BDSM theme runs throughout, from the playthings found in Eric’s basement in Shoshanna Evers’ “The Wooden Pony” to the redemption won in the post-Titantic drama “Kiss of Life” by Lily Daniels. There are various time frames and sexual encounters between all kinds of people, some in unusual situations.

SUMMARY: Anne Calhoun shares “Transfixed” and “Transformed,” where her characters undergo life-altering changes. “The Sybil” brings a great ruler to his knees, as told by Jean Johnson. Priya and Luise knit together a relationship in “Stitch and Bitch” by A.L. Simonds. Ashley’s in for a big spanking surprise at her “Bachelorette Party,” by Jessica Clare. Myriam is “Taken” by a bronze-skinned savage in Rebecca Lange’s tale. In “Bruised Ego” by Christine d’Abo, Lee is looking for therapy for his bruised body. Other authors include: Meljean Brook, Sarabeth Scott, DL Galace, HelenKay Dimon, Cameron Belle, Sara Thorn, J.K. Coi, Bettie Sharpe, Delphine Dryden, Margaret Rowe, Edie Harris and Sunny Moraine. (HEAT, Dec., 448 pp, $15.00)

There’s been a change of title and publication date for the first London List book from Kensington. Lord Gray’s List (formerly Lord Craig’s List) has been moved up to November 2012! Hero Ben doesn’t mind getting his name changed as long as he can make heroine Evie change hers to Lady Gray. ;)

And last, the fabulous Frauke Spanuth at Croco Designs has designed spectacular bookmarks for me. Swoon! I can’t wait to mail them out.

There’s Still Time for Midnight

One of the bonuses when a new book in a series releases is that readers become aware that there were older books. Such has been the case since Mistress by Marriage came out last month, with a definite uptick of reads and reviews for Mistress by Mistake and Mistress by Midnight. Here’s a lovely description of January’s Midnight from Romance Reviews Today:

Laurette and Con had grown up together, and from that came a love that grew stronger as they left childhood behind. But Con, the Marquess of Conover, had a guardian who squandered Con’s inheritance and then arranged for a lucrative marriage for his ward with an older, wealthy young lady who desired to move up in society. Because he knew that without money two villages in his care would come to ruin, Con reluctantly agreed to the wedding. Telling Laurette was the most difficult thing he ever did. They had had, on their own, a pagan ritual professing their eternal love, and a wedding night not to be forgotten. And then Con married Marianna Berryman.

Twelve years later, Laurette has business with the Marquess of Conover, as much as she dreads confronting him. Her brother is in dire straits because of his gambling, and only Con can help. And help he does, but with a stipulation…Laurette must become his mistress for six months. Although Con had proposed marriage soon after Marianna died, Laurette had flatly refused, hiding a secret that she didn’t want anyone to discover. Now she has no choice. She will count the days of her agreement, then get on with her life. But Con has no intention of letting her out of his life again.

MISTRESS BY MIDNIGHT tells a story of two honest, honorable people who do the right thing by society’s expectations. But it tears at both of their hearts, and each deals with the situation differently. Laurette embraced her future by starting a small school for girls in her community, trying, in vain, to forgive and forget the man she loved with all of her might. Con made sure he, too, did his duty and produced a male heir, then left his wife and child for travels throughout the world, hoping to avoid any thought of Laurette. How will these two star-crossed lovers work through their issues? Can Laurette ever reveal her secret? Or will Con wear her down with his love for her?

Nicely written, with well rounded, realistic characters, MISTRESS BY MIDNIGHT is a romantic, heartwarming, and at times heart wrenching story with a unique premise.

Fall Birthday Bash

I have a birthday in a week, and my websites are going to be two years old in November! To celebrate, I’m running a two-month long contest, where YOU might get the present. I’ll wrap a big box of brand-new romance books (including some of my own) and send it out as an early Christmas present in December. Entry is easy. Go here!

Oh, and the guy? Sorry, he won’t be in the box, but he’s the inspiration for my latest hero, Captain Reynold Durant. :)
